StressCheck is built to read your heart, not to read your data. There's no account, no analytics, and no server of ours that ever sees anything about you.
Introduction
StressCheck is a wellness app for iPhone and Apple Watch that measures heart-rate variability (HRV) and helps you track your stress and recovery against your own normal. It is distributed only on the Apple App Store. This policy explains exactly what happens to your information, which is, in short, very little.
Data We Collect
We do not collect any personal data. StressCheck has:
- No account, login, or sign-up.
- No analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs.
- No data sent to servers we operate, we don't run any.
Your measurements, scores, baseline, mood check-ins, and settings are content you own. We never receive a copy of any of it.
Apple Health (HealthKit)
To measure HRV, StressCheck reads heart data from Apple Health on your device, such as heart rate, heart-rate variability, beat-to-beat samples, resting heart rate, and respiratory rate, plus optional daily context like sleep.
- This data is read on your device and used only to compute your scores and trends.
- It is never sent to us or to any third party. Apple Health data is not used for advertising or shared with anyone.
- You grant and revoke each Health permission yourself, any time, in the Health app or iOS Settings.
Where Your Data Lives
Everything StressCheck creates is stored locally on your device, in a container shared between the iPhone and Apple Watch apps so your history stays consistent.
- If you choose to back up, StressCheck writes an encrypted-at-rest backup file to your own private iCloud Drive, handled by Apple, inside your personal iCloud account.
- That backup is yours; it is not public, not shared with us, and not visible to anyone else.
- If you don't use iCloud backup, your data simply stays on your devices.
- Apple's handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
On-Device AI Analysis
The optional "AI Analysis" puts your result into plain language using on-device AI. Every number and label it phrases is computed by our own deterministic code; the language model runs entirely on your device and your heart data is never uploaded to us, to Apple, or to any cloud service for this feature.
Permissions We Request
- Apple Health (required to measure): to read the heart and context data described above. You choose exactly what to share.
- iCloud (optional): only if you turn on backup, to store your own backup file in your private iCloud.
You can change these permissions at any time in the iOS Settings and Health apps.
In-App Purchases
- StressCheck Plus is sold as a subscription or one-time purchase, processed entirely by Apple. We never see or store your payment information.
- Your purchase status is verified through Apple and kept on your device to unlock Plus features. Nothing is uploaded to a server of ours.
- The paywall does not collect personal data, analytics, or tracking.
- Purchases and subscriptions are governed by the Apple Standard EULA and managed in your App Store account.
What We Do Not Do
- No third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
- No selling, sharing, or transferring of any user or health data, there is none to transfer.
- No profiling, no fingerprinting, no cross-app tracking.
Health & Wellness Disclaimer
StressCheck is a wellness and informational app, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition, and its scores are not medical advice. If you have concerns about your health, talk to a qualified professional.
Children's Privacy
StressCheck is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Because StressCheck collects no personal data at all, it poses no such risk by design.

If this policy changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be communicated within the app or through the App Store listing.
